Fashion Trends Alert For A Fabulous Fall

Guys, it's September! Aka the biggest month in fashion. And after my post about what beauty products you should definitely be using this fall (link here), I'll now talk about the trends of this coming season. Wondering what to put on your shopping list? Check it out!

Yes ladies, the 70's are back! The outfits our moms wore yesterday are making a comeback for Fall 2015. But when it comes to actually wearing it, there are some tricks to keep in mind. The best way to approach this trend is to keep it inspired by the 70’s, but not literal (as in you don’t need to go full hippie). It's all about subtle touches. A couple items that you can incorporate are mixed print dresses, bell bottoms and flares, bell sleeved tops, off the shoulder tops, and boho shift dresses.

If you are more of a fall person and the weather change is something you are looking forward to, the 90’s soft grunge look may be for you. This is a more street-style look for those with an edgy vibe. Wear chokers, a backpack, overalls, a flannel tied around your waist, a band tee, acid wash jeans, doc martens. and leather like a moto jacket.

Platform shoes are a revival trend from the 70’s and 90’s. Try to find a platform shoe that has a chunky heel and is not too steep like a flatform. Choose one in a neutral color so it will be sure to work for outfits in both of these decades. They are the most versatile heels for fall.

A classy midi skirt with a button-down will keep you looking very professional while being on trend. You can opt for a circle midi skirt or go for a long pencil skirt, which doubles as a great going-out outfit when paired with a crop top. Dress it up well enough and you might even be able to wear it to a semi-formal a la Kim Kardashian on the red carpet!

Popping up everywhere on the runways, khaki in all of its wonderful nuances, is the shade expected to add the needed amount of freshness. Khaki may have been borrowed from the army, but it is far from uniform. Add a feminine touch with a ruffled cami or pintucked, unbuttoned shirt. Accessorize with sexy, gladiator sandals or wedge-sole canvas boots.

From a subtle 70's kick that lends denim a much wider silhouette, to the brand-new take on the relaxed, boyfriend fit. Denim is back on the fashion stage for fall in a big way. It's the trend that so wrong, it's right - and it's not going anywhere.

Fall 2015 will be seeing an influx of the fur coat trend. Stay in the loop and on top of your game with this style. A boxy faux fur coat that is long sleeve and hits at the waist will be a great go-to for going-out outerwear. It will make you look super high fashion without even trying.

Whether they come in the form of cool silvers or rich golds - it's time to shine! This trend is striking, yet can be quite scary to start wearing. Let’s face it, all eyes are on you when you have light bouncing off of you. Don't worry though, you can go from head-to-toe in a metallic frock or just add a little glitter to your look with a metallic clutch.

Suede makes its return! In between daytime dresses, hippie-chic coats and utilitarian jumpsuits, suede has been given a new edge on the runway. Also fringes are back in the game! Pick up an item with fringe and make it the statement piece of your outfit. Finish off your look with minimalist accessories in neutral colors. For those looking to slowly embrace this trend, a fringe bag would be a good investment to start with.
